Novel connection. When Richie punches Russell in the face, his mother wants to call the principal, however, Russell wants to keep quiet about the whole incident. Russell’s mom’s response was, “I’m not doing nothing. If one adult did this to another, he be in jail. Why should it be different for kids?” (p. 45)
Blog Question: Should kids solve their own problems or should adults/parents get involved? Explain.
I personally think that the parents should get more involved and they should ask their more questions about school. The parents , in my point of view should also do something about the principal Miss. Capelli since she is very mean and is a bully herself. Miss.Capelli should also take an action towards bullying and teach how to prevent it in schools and other social areas instead of kids experiencing bullying and then taking steps themselves to stop bullying. If the adults and parents helped out the pressure on the kids would be removed. Even though adults are "ADULTS" I think the kids should also do something about there own problems. They should share their problems with adults so that there can be grownups involved in the situation. Also since grownups have more power than kids, maybe is they did something other grownups would listen to them since they don't always listen to the kids. I also think that both kids and parents should of taken the subject of bullying more seriously since the beginning, then all of these problems would of never had happened. So to sum it all up I think that both parents and kids should be involved in all things and If they join their minds together they can literally stop unnecessary problems.
